Chelle

Chelle Ragge': District Manager

Chelle Ragge', our  District Manager for the Tulsa County Conservation District, assumed the position February 1st, 2007.  Her background is in wildlife, exotics and domestic rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption.  She has over 20 years of experience in environmental education.  She has worked with numerous non-profit organizations sharing educational material through workshops, special events and summer camps.  She attended Oklahoma State University where she obtained her M.S. in Natural & Applied Sciences.  Her educational background concentrated on environmental science, education, outdoor recreation and environmental philosophy.  Before moving back to the Tulsa area she taught environmental philosophy at O.S.U.

Chelle says she is "honored and thrilled to be part of this incredible team, and looks forward to finding new exciting opportunities to expand educational programs." It is her intent to dramatically increase our volunteer base and it is her hope to expand our educational outreach ten fold.

Scott Grant
Scott Grant: Conservation Program Specialist

Scott is from Broken Arrow, where he graduated in 2003. After attending the University of Arkansas for four years, he earned a B.S. degree in Environmental, Soil and Water Science. Scott is excited about being involved in the environmental issues of Tulsa County and looks forward to working with area citizens on these issues.








Debbie

Deborah Coleman:  Distict Secretary

Debbie is from Muskogee Oklahoma and graduated High School from there in 1971. She has 3 children and 4 grandchildren. She is interested in all forms of conservation and is extremely excited about her new career. Previous to her employment with us Debbie worked for 30 years in the Cosmetology industry.

Gary Bishop on Left

Gary Bishop, District Conservationist

Gary graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. Degree in Agriculture in 1974.  He was raised on a farm near Chandler, Oklahoma, and graduated from Chandler High School.  In 1975, he started his career in Wagoner, Oklahoma, with the Soil Conservation Service; currently called the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).

As District Conservationist, Gary is the local NRCS representative assigned to assist landusers with the implementation of USDA programs in Tulsa County.  Some of Bishop's others duties in Tulsa County include, but are not limited to:  providing Tulsa County soils information to farmers, ranchers, homeowners, developers, engineers, builders, tribes, units of governments, etc; developing conservation plans; providing landusers with planning and technical assistance to install and maintain conservation practices on the land; assisting in the development of outdoor classrooms and providing environmental education resource materials; assisting the Tulsa County Commissioners to stabilize eroded areas around bridges and county roads after heavy rainfall events; conducting outreach activities in the county; providing information and programs to include educational presentations, workshops, tours and displays; planning and conducting Urban Erosion and Sediment Control Workshops; working with landusers on implementing "Backyard Conservation" practices; and administering the Earth Team volunteer program








Freddy Trujillo

Freddy Trujillo, Soil Conservation Technician

In 1980, Freddy started his career with Natural Resource Conservation Service (formerly Soil Conservation Service) located in New Mexico working in Watershed and Field Offices.  Coming to Oklahoma in 1984, Freddy has worked in Field Offices, Watershed Offices, and assisted Technical Offices.  Freddy first started in the Northeast part of Oklahoma and drifted toward the west.  Freddy says: "I am very glad to be able to get back to this area that I really enjoy.  My wife and I enjoy hunting and spending time at ball games with my boys." Freddy assists with conservation planning and has designed ponds and wetlands for many local landowners
